Dr. Markell studied at the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. After a remarkable career, Dr. Markell has recently completed an MBA (2019) from the University of California San Diego Rady School of Management.

He has led a successful equine veterinary practice for over thirty years and brings his medical and business experience to IlluminX and their clients. As an attending veterinarian to many celebrities, luminaries and as an official veterinarian for the United States Olympic Show Jumping Team, Dr. Markell is considered a leader throughout the world as an expert in equine sports medicine and consultant to the pharmaceutical, biotech and life science industries.

 

Through his personal and professional collaborative relationships with researchers, clinicians and corporate leaders, he has been part of the development of many current theories in treatment, diagnosis and regenerative medicine therapy.
