Dr. Markell received his BS from the University of Missouri and his DVM from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Recently, he completed an MBA (2019) at the University of California San Diego, Rady School of Management. 

 

His international clientele and work as a veterinarian for the United States Olympic Equestrian Team brings unique insight to both human and veterinary sports medicine. He is a key opinion leader in clinical regenerative medicine and his years of pharmaceutical and medical consulting offer an innovative perspective across disciplines.

 

Dr. Markell's communication skills enable an understanding of complicated scientific and medical concepts. He has been a frequent speaker and panelist at both national and international medical meetings as well as doing work as a teacher and an instructor. He is currently working on a pitched TED Talk "How Animals Make Us Better Humans." His philanthropic mission is at our core and Dr. Markell works closely with the SHEA Therapeutic Riding Center.
